Major Active Programs

National Engineers' Week Celebrations

The EC Board of Directors is busily engaged throughout the year preparing for the traditional National Engineers Week celebration. National Engineers Week is celebrated during the week encompassing the birthday of our country's first President, George Washington, who was a Civil Engineer.

An Honors and Awards Banquet is held Saturday evening culminating a full week of celebration that includes but is not limited to mall exhibits, visits to elementary, junior and senior high schools, student science and engineering contests, and engineering student excellence recognition.

Scholarship Programs

Consists of funds given to select scholarship funds at local engineering schools and to top high school graduates planning to attend an engineering school of their choice.

Mentoring Programs

Consists of support to the Canoga Park High School Explorer Post #3142. This is a general science and math post that is run by volunteer mentors from from the IEEE technical society membership in the San Fernando Valley.

Educational Outreach

The Engineers' Council strongly supports the local CSPE Mathcounts competition and IEEE Future Cities competition. Winning students are recognized by the Council during National Engineers' Week at the Gala Honors & Awards Banquet.
